Beef with potatoes in foil


Ingredients for cooking beef with potatoes in foil

Cooking beef with potatoes in foil:

Step 1: prepare the beef pulp.


We thoroughly wash the beef under running warm water to remove possible bone fragments, and then wipe it with kitchen paper towels. We spread the meat on a cutting board and clean it of films and veins.
Now we cover the component with cling film (so that the beef juice does not splatter in different directions) and, using a kitchen hammer, beat well so that the thickness of the piece becomes no more than 1 centimeter.

Next, remove the film, and cut the meat with a knife into small pieces. Shredded component is transferred to a free plate and briefly left alone.

Step 2: prepare the onions.


Peel the onion and then rinse well under running water. We lay out the component on a cutting board and chop with thin half rings. The chopped half of the onion is moved to a clean plate.

Step 3: prepare the potatoes.


Using a vegetable cutter, peel the potatoes from the skins and then rinse thoroughly under running warm water to remove any remaining soil and other dirt. Next, lay the tubers on a cutting board and cut into small slices or cubes. The crushed components are transferred to a small bowl.

Step 4: Cook the beef with potatoes in foil.


We tear off a large segment of food foil and grease its middle with a small amount of vegetable oil, using a pastry brush. Then, in the center, with the first layer we spread the pieces of beef, and on top we cover them with half rings of onion. Do not forget to add salt and ground black pepper to your taste.

Now put the third layer of potato cubes and wrap everything in foil. Attention: we fasten the edges of the segment well so that steam does not enter from the cooking process.

Next, with the help of a pastry brush, grease the surface of the pan, and then put the wrapped components in the container. Turn on the oven and heat it to temperature 180 degrees. Immediately after that, put the pan on a medium level and bake beef with potatoes for 45-50 minutes. After the allotted time, you can use the kitchen tack to gently remove the container, open the foil using a fork, and check the degree of readiness of the meat. To do this, just pierce it with the tip of a knife. If the inventory easily goes into the flesh, then the dish is ready and you can turn off the oven. If not, then it’s worth extending the baking time yet for 10-15 minutes. In any case, after the allotted time, we take out the pan from there and set it aside. Let the dish cool slightly (throughout 5 minutes).

Step 5: serve the beef with potatoes in foil.


You can immediately serve beef and potatoes to the dining table without removing it from the foil. The dish is very tasty, juicy and satisfying. Together with him I recommend offering guests a salad of fresh vegetables or pickles.

Recipe Tips:

- for aroma, you can add one medium clove of garlic to the dish, as well as other spices to your taste;

- so that onions do not give bitterness, it is better to use a white or Crimean variety;

- Before cooking, beef with onions can be pickled in a small amount of mayonnaise. Somewhere from 30 minutes to several hours.

- if the meat is too thick to beat, then be sure to cut it into two layers.
