Cooking meatloaf in puff pastry:
Step 1: prepare the dough.
I suggest to take puff pastry ready-made. Therefore, you only need to remove it from the package and thaw at room temperature, or following the instructions. After that, roll out both layers of dough using a rolling pin into rectangles with sides of about 30 by 40 centimeters, or ovals of similar size, depending on what shape you want to make a pie. Important: do not forget to prepare the work surface first, sprinkling it with a small amount of wheat flour.
Step 2: prepare the minced meat.
Minced meat is also thawed before cooking and dumped into a deep bowl.
Prepare the rest of the ingredients in advance. That is, rinse the dill and chop into small pieces. Peel the onion, rinse with cool water and chop it with a knife too. After cleaning, clove the garlic cloves through a special press, turning the ingredient into a kind of gruel.
Add all prepared ingredients to the thawed minced meat and mix thoroughly. Then break there one thing chicken egg, pepper and salt. Add mayonnaise as the last ingredient and mix well again.
Step 3: prepare the eggs.
Also for the filling we need 3-4 boiled eggs. Therefore, pre-boil these ingredients for 10-13 minutes. And then cool in ice water. At the same time, you need to dip the eggs in cold water immediately after cooking, so the shell will be much easier to peel. Peeled boiled eggs do not need to be cut, leave them whole.
You should have left one raw egg. It must be broken into a separate bowl and beat with a fork or whisk.
Step 4: form the meatloaf in puff pastry.
Take one layer of rolled dough and put half of the prepared minced meat on its middle. Squeeze it a little in the middle.
Place the boiled eggs on the meat so that they form one continuous line. Depending on the size of the eggs, they can be placed at some distance from each other.
Cover the eggs with the remaining half of the stuffing and directly form a tight sausage with your hands so that the mass does not crumble to the sides.
With the remaining dough, cover the minced meat with eggs. Wrap the edges and blind them together tightly so that the filling does not run away. Using a knife, make several shallow cuts on top of the roll. And in order for the edges of the product to be smooth and beautiful, go over them with the cloves of the fork, forming small stripes.
Step 5: bake the meatloaf in puff pastry.
Set the oven to warm up 200 degrees Celsius. At this time, grease the roll with a beaten raw egg and transfer it to an oiled baking pan. Place the billet in a preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes. The finished roll is covered with a delicious golden crust and will exude a stunning meat smell. But do not rush to try it, like any other baking, it needs to be allowed to cool to room temperature, but after that, boldly proceed to serve the roll on the table.
