Shortbread Cookies with Nuts

Ingredients for Cooking Shortbread Cookies with Nuts

  1. Wheat flour 400 grams
  2. Butter 82% fat 250 grams
  3. Walnuts 160 grams
  4. Icing sugar 100 grams and for decoration

Cooking shortbread cookies with nuts:

Step 1: chop the nuts.

Using a blender, grind peeled walnuts by simply grinding them at high speed.

You get such nutty crumbs.

Step 2: add the flour to the nuts.

Combine chopped nuts with sifted flour, baking powder, a pinch of salt, powdered sugar, ground cinnamon, grated lemon peel and vanilla.

Step 3: add the eggs.

Add the chicken egg and yolks to the dry mass. Mix everything well together, starting to knead the dough.

Step 4: add the butter.

Now add here the cold oil that you just got from the refrigerator and cut into pieces, and knead a homogeneous, non-sticky dough.
Do not knead for a long time so that the oil does not have time to melt and become soft.
Form the finished dough into a ball, cover with cling film and send in the refrigerator to one hour.

Step 5: form shortbread cookies with nuts.

Cut the chilled dough into smaller pieces, roll them into sausages and cut into small pieces, from which, with your hands, form crescents.

Spread the resulting workpieces on a baking sheet covered with parchment for baking. Depending on the size of the crescents, you get only about 80 cookies.

Bake cookies at a low (140-160 degrees) temperature for 20 minutes or until the dough is browned.

When you just take out the shortbread cookies from the oven, it will still be soft, but later, when it cools, the dough will become very fragile.
Sprinkle hot shortbread cookies with nuts and powdered sugar and cool at room temperature.
