Cooking herring with cranberries and horseradish:
Step 1: prepare the ingredients.
Drain the oil from the herring, pat it with paper towels and, checking that there are no bones (even the smallest), cut the fillet into small slices.
Peel and chop red onion with thin feathers or half rings.
If the cranberries are large, they should also be crushed a little with a knife.
Step 2: prepare the sauce.
Combine thick sour cream, horseradish, salt and ground pepper in a plate. Mix well to make a uniform sauce. By the way, you can try it, and in which case add more horseradish or sour cream, to taste.
Step 3: mix everything.
Take a plate for serving snacks. It will be most beautiful if you have such an oblong plate in the shape of a fish, but the usual one will do, the main thing is what is inside.
Put horseradish and sour cream sauce on the bottom, and a portion of onion and cranberry on it.
Now pieces of herring. Try to lay them in one layer so that they do not overlap each other.
Lubricate them with sauce on top, add more onions and cranberries, and then the remaining herring.
Garnish with the remaining onions and cranberries and leave to cool a little or serve immediately to the table.
Step 4: serve herring with cranberries and horseradish.
Herring with cranberries and horseradish is incredibly tasty and expressive. Such an appetizer simply must be on your table. You just try, one piece is enough to fall in love with this fish.
Enjoy your meal!
- You can simply lay the appetizer in a jar or a tall salad bowl in layers, alternating onions, cranberries, sauce and herring between each other.
