Christmas Beetroot Appetizer


Ingredients for making beetroot New Year snack

  1. Beets 6 pieces (small)
  2. Soft cheese 150 grams
  3. Lemon zest 1 teaspoon
  4. 2 cloves of garlic
  5. Avocado 1 piece
  6. Thick sour cream 1 teaspoon
  7. Lemon juice 1 teaspoon
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Ground pepper to taste
  10. Fresh greens for decoration

Cooking Christmas Beetroot Appetizers:

Step 1: prepare the beets.


Boil or bake beets in foil until cooked. Then let the vegetables cool at room temperature. Peel them and cut them into round slices, thick 3-5 millimeters.
Arrange the pieces of beets on a plate or board in one layer and pepper, and salt them on top to taste.

Step 2: prepare the cheese filling.


In a bowl, mix soft cheese with grated or crushed garlic, pepper and lemon zest. Stir with a fork to crush the cheese.

Step 3: prepare the filling from avocado.


Peel the avocado and mix the flesh with a small amount of sour cream and pepper. Mash with a fork in the same way as cheese filling.

Step 4: collect the appetizer.


It is necessary to cook without mixing the toppings with each other. That is, you will have three Christmas trees with cheese, and three with avocado.
First you need to apply a little filling on a piece of beets. On top of the filling, lay another slice of beets and again put on top either cheese or avocados, depending on what you are collecting the snack at the moment.
Start collecting from the largest circle, gradually narrowing the radius of the slices to the top.

Fix the resulting Christmas tree with wooden skewers. Of course, they must be cut in advance so that they do not stick out. In the photo a long skewer for clarity.

You can spread the filling on beets with either a spoon or a pastry bag.

Step 5: serve beetroot New Year's Eve.


When the Christmas beetroot appetizer is ready, it remains only to season with pepper on top and can be served at the table, surrounded by fresh green leaves.

- If you come across an immature avocado, wrap it in a paper towel and send it to a warm place. The next day, the avocado should ripen.
